The Geek Sisterhood Lives!
We’re still waiting on Gaming Radio Network to find out when/where we’re going to be, but we’ve gone ahead and recorded a second podcast, and we’re going to try to get at least a couple banked in advance so that, thanks to the modern marvel of audio editing software (which I’m still trying to get the hang of), we can add pertinent bits to podcasts should the need arise.
On the more personal front, we’ve just started a Thursday night Skype Mouse Guard game with my husband, Sophie’s husband and a friend. We’ve only had one session so far, but it was a lot of fun. The Mouse Guard system has been described as Burning Wheel Lite (something that makes Luke Crane make funny, strangled noises), but I do see how it is a simpler version of BW. I’m really looking forward to this.
That’s about it. I just wanted to let you guys know that we are still alive and everything is still go.
ConQuest NW report
It’s Sunday morning and we’re gearing up for the last day of the convention at ConQuest NW. So far I’ve played in the Mouse Guard RPG, the Once Upon A Time non-collectible card game, a role-playing game called Knights of the Road, Knights of the Rail, another RPG called In A Wicked Age, and a board game, Vanished Planet.
Last night, Mickey and I sat down to record segments for the podcast, and I’ve also had a great time chatting with so many people I only get to play with at conventions. And in a little bit, I’ll be running a game of Cat, a game which seems to attract uncanny interest in terms of attendance. All in all, an excellent convention and lots of inspiration for many podcast episodes and many game reviews.
Conquest NW This Weekend!!!
I will be there Saturday, helping to run the Story Games Lounge. The Mister will be there both Saturday and Sunday. I need at least one day a weekend to write and do laundry.
Sophie will be there all weekend running games, the Story Games Lounge and volunteering. We’re hoping to take the time to record the first Geek Sisterhood show during the weekend.
Hope to see you there!!!
Welcome to the Blog for Geek Sisterhood on the Gaming Radio Network!
I’m Mickey, the Geek Girl What Rules, and with Sophie, another Geek Girl What Rules, will be hosting a show on the Gaming Radio Network.
We wanted a Net presence where we could leave updates, announce things, discuss our shows and ask you guys for feedback. So please tell us what you want to hear two mouthy Geek Chicks talking about over your intertube machine.
In case you hadn’t guessed, I’m the goofy one. You can find my Geek Culture blog at Geek Girls Rule! or my personal Geek podcasts here.
